The Tidying Process

After an initial free consultation to address any questions and concerns, our first session will begin with discussing your ideal lifestyle and environment. What do you wish your home felt or looked like? Do you wish you felt more peace and quiet? Do you wish you had less clutter and were able to find things easier? Do you have kids and wish you could at least feel some organization or peace amidst the chaos? Whatever it may be, we will identify it and keep it in mind throughout the process.

We then begin! It's really simple and I will guide you through every step of the way. One huge quality that sets this method apart from any other is tackling the items by category instead of location. Have you tried to organize your bedroom or other room and found that only days later it was disorganized again? Going by categories guarantees every item is addressed. This may seem overwhelming, but do not worry! I am with you and will guide and encourage you. I know you can do it! I think you'll be surprised by how rewarding and enjoyable the process can be! You will feel lighter and happier as you go through your items and decide what to keep and what to discard.

The five categories, and in the order we address them, are: Clothes, Books, Papers, Komono (miscellaneous) and Sentimental. The order may seem irrelevant, but it is crucial and has been proven to be most effective.

"I can think of no greater happiness in life than to be surrounded only by the things I love. All you need to do is to get rid of anything that doesn't touch your heart." — The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, Marie Kondo.
